The village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup is in the department of Alpes-Maritimes and has, in addition to the many people who have a second home there, more than 4000 inhabitants. It is 10 minutes from Vence, the largest town in the immediate vicinity. The well-known Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a 15-minute drive away.
Tourrettes-sur-Loup is known for the violettes. These flowers were traditionally grown here for the perfume industry in nearby Grasse.
The medieval village center of Tourrettes is certainly worth a visit. In addition to the characteristic buildings with colored shutters, you will also find various nice restaurants, bars and little shops.
Market on Wednesday
The weekly market takes place on Wednesdays on the village square. You will find, as usual on French markets, beautiful vegetables and fruits and typical Provencal products.
